The Introduction to Textiles Short Course is hosted twice per year. The courses get booked up very far in advance, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
The Textile Institute launched this short course in 2010 to celebrate the Centenary of the Institute. It is a three day intensive training short course, offered twice a year in March and in September.
It is organised for the benefit of all those who are engaged in the manufacture, research and development as well as the commercial aspects of textiles business. The course will cover the fibres, yarns and fabrics used in textile products for apparel, household and technical textiles applications as core modules. The third day will offer two specialist modules covering dyeing and finishing and fabric testing and analysis.
The course is formed of seven separate topics: Fibres, Yarns, Weaving, Warp & Weft Knitting, Non-woven Fabrics, Dyeing & Finishing and Fabric Testing & Analysis.
