TBIS 2025 Conference Report

The Proceedings of the 18th Textile Bioengineering and Informatics Symposium (TBIS 2025) have been officially published by the Textile Bioengineering and Informatics Society (TBIS) and have been submitted for indexing by CNKI, Scopus, and EI Compendex. The volume brings together the latest research achievements from scholars worldwide, showcasing innovative progress in intelligent, green, and sustainable textile science and engineering. This publication marks an important milestone for TBIS 2025 in advancing global collaboration and knowledge exchange in textile innovation, providing a more open platform for academic and industrial cooperation.From August 17 to 20, 2025, the 18th International Conference of Textile Bioengineering and Informatics Society (TBIS 2025) was successfully held in Hangzhou, China. Jointly organized by Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, the Textile Bioengineering and Informatics Society (TBIS), the University of Manchester, the National Engineering Research Center for Biobased Fiber Materials, the Zhejiang Modern Textile Technology Innovation Center, and the Zhejiang Textile Engineering Society, the conference was themed “Future Textile · Innovation Driven.”

Around 600 experts and scholars from 18 countries and regions—including China, the UK, the US, France, Australia, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Poland, the Czech Republic, India, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Uzbekistan, and Hong Kong SAR—gathered to explore innovations and future trends in textile science and technology. With the successful conclusion of the conference, TBIS 2025 came to a close, leaving behind a wealth of academic achievements and meaningful collaborations for the global textile community.

TBIS大会论文集《Proceedings of the 18th Textile Bioengineering and Informatics Symposium (TBIS 2025)》由纺织生物工程与信息学会（TBIS）正式出版，并已申请CNKI、Scopus及EI Compendex等数据库收录。论文集收录了来自世界各地学者的最新研究成果，集中展示了纺织科学与工程在智能化、绿色化和可持续方向的前沿进展。此次出版标志着 TBIS 2025 在推动全球纺织科技创新与成果共享方面迈出了重要一步，也为学术界与产业界搭建了更加开放的国际交流平台。2025年8月17日至20日，第十八届纺织生物工程及信息国际会议（TBIS 2025）在杭州圆满举行。大会由浙江理工大学、纺织生物工程与信息学会（TBIS）、英国曼彻斯特大学、生物基纤维材料全国重点实验室、浙江省现代纺织技术创新中心及浙江纺织工程学会联合主办。以“未来纺织·创新驱动（Future Textile, Innovation Driven）”为主题，本届大会吸引了来自中国、英国、美国、法国、澳大利亚、荷兰、德国、意大利、葡萄牙、波兰、捷克、印度、韩国、日本、泰国、乌兹别克斯坦及中国香港等18个国家和地区的约600名专家学者参会，共同探讨纺织科技的创新与未来发展。至此，TBIS 2025 圆满落下帷幕，为全球纺织领域留下了丰硕的学术成果与合作记忆。

01-Opening Ceremony

Academicians and experts, including Academician Chen Wenxing, President of Zhejiang Sci-Tech University; Academician Zhu Meifang of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Academicians Xu Weilin and Sun Yize of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Yao Jumeng, Vice President of Zhejiang Sci-Tech University and Chair of TBIS 2025; Professor Yi Li, Chair of TBIS and from the University of Manchester; Wang Dong, Vice President of Wuhan Textile University; and Hong Ping, Vice President of Beijing Sport University, attended the conference. Around 600 experts, scholars, and delegates from 18 countries and regions — including China, the United Kingdom, the United States, France, Australia, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Poland, the Czech Republic, India, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Uzbekistan, and Hong Kong, China — participated in this year’s event.

中国工程院院士、浙江理工大学校长陈文兴，中国科学院院士朱美芳，中国工程院院士徐卫林，中国工程院院士孙以泽，TBIS 2025大会主席、浙江理工大学副校长姚菊明，TBIS主席、曼彻斯特大学教授李翼，武汉纺织大学副校长王栋，北京体育大学副校长洪平等专家学者，来自中国、英国、美国、法国、澳大利亚、荷兰、德国、意大利、葡萄牙、波兰、捷克、印度、韩国、日本、泰国、乌兹别克斯坦、中国香港等18个国家和地区的相关专家、学者和参会代表约600人参加本届大会。

02- Plenary Speeches 

At this conference, six distinguished speakers delivered keynote presentations: Academician Xu Weilin, Professor Julius Vancso from the University of Twente (Netherlands), Professor Malgorzata Zimniewska from the Institute of Natural Fibres (Poland), Professor Wang Xungai from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Professor Zeng Xianyi from the University of Lille (France), and Professor Sommai Pivsa-Art from King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (Thailand). Their talks offered participants a high-level academic feast. Academician Sun Yize and Vice President Yao Jumeng chaired the morning and afternoon sessions, respectively. Meanwhile, more than 200 participants engaged in thematic discussions and presentations on topics such as advanced fibers and composite materials, biomedical textile materials, high-end textile equipment and intelligent manufacturing, garment deformation simulation and generative design technologies, and sustainable development of the fashion industry.

 本次大会邀请徐卫林院士，荷兰特文特大学Julius Vancso教授，波兰天然纤维研究所Malgorzata Zimniewska教授，香港理工大学王训该教授，法国里尔大学曾宪奕教授，泰国坦亚武里皇家理工大学Sommai Pivsa-Art教授6位嘉宾作大会主题报告，为参会者带来了一场高水平的学术盛宴。孙以泽院士与姚菊明副校长分别主持上半场和下半场报告环节。同时，200余位与会代表就先进纤维与复合材料、生物医用纺织材料、高端纺织装备及智能制造、服装形变仿真与生成式设计技术、时尚产业可持续发展等主题开展分组讨论与报告。

03 Looking Ahead 

TBIS 2025 is not only an academic gathering but also an important platform for fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration and industrial innovation in global textile science. Looking ahead, TBIS will continue to dedicate itself to building an international, high-level academic exchange ecosystem—driving the textile industry toward greater intelligence, sustainability, and globalization. In 2026, the TBIS Conference will be held in Roubaix, France, tentatively scheduled for August 25–28, 2026. This will mark the 19th edition of TBIS, where experts and scholars from around the world will once again gather to explore the frontiers of textile innovation and the path toward a sustainable future. At the TBIS 2025 closing banquet, the organizing committee reflected on the five-day event, filled with inspiring exchanges and heartfelt moments, and expressed sincere gratitude to all participants and volunteers for their contributions. TBIS 2025 concluded successfully with remarkable highlights — we look forward to seeing you in France for TBIS 2026! We warmly invite scholars from around the world to join us for this grand event!

TBIS 2025不仅是一场学术盛会，更是推动全球纺织科学跨界融合与产业创新的重要平台。未来，TBIS将持续致力于构建国际化、高水平的学术交流生态，促进纺织行业向智能化、绿色化与全球化发展。2026年，TBIS会议将在法国鲁贝（Roubaix）举办，时间暂定为2026年8月25日至28日。这将是第十九届TBIS会议，来自世界各地的专家学者将再次齐聚一堂，共同探索纺织科技的创新前沿与可持续未来。在TBIS 2025闭幕晚宴上，组委会回顾了为期四天的精彩日程，感谢所有参会者与志愿者的辛勤付出。TBIS 2025圆满落幕，精彩纷呈——TBIS 2026，我们法国再见，诚邀世界各地学者共襄盛举！
