Welcome to TBIS 2026! | |
TBIS, an acronym for Textile Bioengineering and Informatics Symposium, is a well-established international research forum to exchange scientific views and new technology developments as well as promote cross-disciplinary research from material sciences, nanotechnology, fiber sciences, textile engineering, eco technology, textile and clothing CAD, with more emphasis on interactions of human/material/environment.
TBIS 2026 will be organized by the ENSAIT – University of Lille and held in August 25-28 2026. The region of Lille-Roubaix has played a key role in French culture and history, thanks to its numerous fashion brands and its past prosperity in the textile industry. The region's rich cultural heritage and breathtaking natural scenery make it truly one of a kind. As Co-Chair of TBIS2026, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all participants of the conference. I hope we can engage in meaningful scientific exchanges and foster collaborations around our shared interests, while also taking the opportunity to enjoy the local culture—including our gastronomy, music, windmills, traditional villages, and coastline.
Founded in 1881, ENSAIT is a fashion and technology-oriented French higher education and research institution training engineers at master level. Its research activities aim to develop innovative textiles towards high technology carriers by optimizing interactions of human, material and environment. Different from classical textile research, ENSAIT has been working through various European and national projects on development of sustainable and smart textile materials and supply chains as well as textile digitalization and intelligentalization. The related applications deal with numerous areas such as health, well-being, fashion, transport and security.
Most of the themes proposed by TBIS2026 are consistent with the research activities of ENSAIT. With the experiences and competences acquired through the current research activities, we wish to contribute in cooperation with you to work on textile innovations to change our culture and lifestyle by developing advanced materials and textile digitalization.
Looking forward to seeing you in August 2026 in Lille France.
